Logoff Sound delays shutdown
Hi All, ............. When turning off my Win7 computer I get a screen notifying that there will be a delay due to the presence of the Windows Logoff sound. I have brought up the Sound screen and see that there is a place to check "Play Windows Startup Sound" and that is unchecked In my system There is no similar offering for the Shutdown Sound. Does anyone know how I can remove the Logoff Sound so that shut down doesn't have this delay?

I think you mean the "Exit Windows" sound, which is Windows Shutdown.wav

This error can occur if the shutdown sound plays for more than 10 seconds, for example, if you have changed it to a different .wav file than the default one.

Midknyte and jdc2000, ............... My apologies to you, apparently my system has cured itself ! Before my posting there were repeated delays in shut-downs. After the post I was unable to get the delay screen despite many computer closings. I'm sorry for your lost time, but thank your for your attempts in solving my imaginary problem.
