    Avast Dropbox

Not sure I'm posting in the right place so feel free to move it, I'm posting here as it relates to my Vista machine.

Not used this PC for a long time so been giving it a good clean-up and updating the necessaries. After updating the avast free AV I was offered avast dropbox so went ahead and installed it. Its first job was to tell me I'm not connected to the internet which evidently I am. It then abruptly terminated a download, a link I got from here from whom I presume a respected poster with over 7k posts.

Should I be uninstalling this or is there workaround?

Actually, "Dropbox" is a file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, California. It offers cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud, and client software. The software allows users to create a special folder on each of their computers that is kept synchronized so that it appears to be the same folder (with the same contents) regardless of which computer is used to view it. Files placed in this folder also are accessible through a website and mobile phone applications.

PS - It appears there are a bunch of Avast users upset about Dropbox being installed if they do not deselect the option upon installation of Avast or when doing an upgrade ... even for their paying customers(?) https://feedback.avast.com/responses...nstall-dropbox

Thanks for that, I will be uninstalling. To be fair I did install through choice but I was somewhat hoodwinked into believing it was an avast program and not a third party. It'll teach me to be more careful in future.
