    Auto config problem

I am having "lenovo' LCD monitor for my Desk top com with Windows XP SP2.

Of late i am getting a Popup display ' Auto config' in the monitor.

Pl tell me what does it mean & how to get over it.

What particulars i should post & if so where they r available in the system for a lay man like me to see & post here.

    Thanks in advance

When does this happen? Is it random, or does it happen when the computer comes out of Sleep mode? Have you checked the monitor cable connection at both ends to make sure it is secure?

    Dear Moderator,

It happened constantly right from start.

However,as suggested by u,i disconnected both ends of the monitor to check for any loose connection & reconnected including the adaptor input to the monitor.

Now the popup is NOT seen & i think the problem is solved.
    Thank u.

However if the problem reappears,pl let me know how to proceed & what details i should have to post it here.

I think it is likely that your problem will not reappear. If it does, let us know what the computer was doing when the issue reappeared.

Unplugging n replugging in the monitor like that tends to clean the contacts so a good connections is established.
Expect to have to do that about once a year until you replace the cable.
    Been there!
