Intel core 2 Quad core Q9300 idle cpu temps
Hi all
A friend asked me a question on Quad core idle temps
not being familiar with what is normal or hot
Windows 7 home premium
Motherboard Asus P5BV-C
Quad Core Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300, 2500 MHz (7.5 x 333)
2gig of ram
Core Temp program readings
Temperatures:
Motherboard 28 °C (82 °F)
CPU 22 °C (72 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 37 °C (99 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 43 °C (109 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #3 43 °C (109 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #4 50 °C (122 °F)
Aux 25 °C (77 °F)
Stock Heatsink and fan.
If the temps are high, what can be done to lower them.
I believe he said he cleaned and replaced thermal paste with Artic silver 5
The HSF is properly installed.
I can’t check it myself he lives in another state
Any help pointing him in the right direction would be great

Those temps are all well within spec, in fact probably a little better than average. When they start to reach 60 °C + while doing routine work is when you'd want to look into cleaning or other measures again.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.
Check back regularly for responses.
