Extend time a message stays on

In W8.1 when I click Windows+C (as an example) I get the charm bar But it stays on screen for just a few seconds. How do I change the settings to make it stay there longer? Thanks.

In the example you give, the charms bar will stay on the right side of the screen as long as you don't click on (or touch) another window or area of the screen that performs a different function, at least it does so on my PC using a mouse. When you click on (or touch) another area away from a modern UI app (such as the charms bar) that app will close or go into the background. As far as I know there is no way to change this behavior.

jseidel: Thanks for responding. I have switched to a mouse (instead of the built in pad) and things seem more stable. I suspect I was mis-using that keypad. .... wdc
