    USB hub for tablet

So, I just bought an ASUS tablet w/Windows 8.1.. works fine now that I've upgraded from 8 to 8.1 (what a pain that was!).

Anyway like all tablets it has only one USB port and I would on occasion like to have more than one device attached to it.. like an external drive, mouse and keyboard to do backups and general maintenance. I have a passive 4 port hub with a micro adapter that I've tested and works but if I start using it for any length of time the battery will be drained very quickly.

Question is would or could a powered hub work well enough to supply power to all the peripherals at once without damaging any of them or more importantly the tablet?

VirtualDr email notices are not working.

A powered hub is definitely the way to go. You won't do any damage, that's the whole reason for powered hubs. :-)
