Plugged in an external USB keyboard and mouse. Nothing mouse would light up when moved but nothing on the screen. I do not have a touch screen laptop so that option is out. Guess I have a paper weight till disks get here or will have to bring it in to the repair shop on Wed after work. Windows 8 seems to be the largest POS operating system out there. When I got this PC none of my existing programs worked and had to shell out a bunch of $$ just to replace everything from Office and antivirus to various games and software and now this. May suck it up as a loss of all data and go and buy a copy of Windows 7 at least I know that works.

Still under warrantee but can not utilize it as currently in Ireland and it is they will not honor it here. Created the bootable stick but it is not booting from it no matter what I do it still boots to hard drive first. About to smash this $1000 paperweight into a thousand pieces.

Turn on laptop, tap F!@ or you will miss it and i mean you have to be faster than fast with the F12.

If it starts booting the hdd, you missed and need to start over.

I turn on with one hand and start tapping immediately with the other.

Also note that the related link after the boot menu tells you how to get into Windows System Restore (so you can go back to a previous good restore point)

The only F key that works is F2. I have tried F8, F10, F11, and F12 as has been suggested here and by others with no luck.
