Gmail's easy-to-use audio/visual notifier for mail received/sent is no longer, and was never actually designed for Win7, anyway, though I never had problems with it. So I'm looking for similar to install on my Desktop as detailed above. I would prefer to download/install a free, simple program which will notify me audibly/visually when new e-mail arrives in my Gmail inbox. If my e-mail accounts with Yahoo! and Outlook can be included, that would be a bonus, but my biggest need is with my Gmail.
My primary browser and mail program is Chrome using Gmail and I spend a lot of time on the latest IE version as well.
If someone can please point me to what I'm seeking, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks!

Log in to your Gmail account in Chrome, click the Settings gear over near the top right, scroll down and select "New mail notifications on", then scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.

Cool. The old Gtalk client works for email notifications too, but I didn't know if you wanted chat or not.
Other chat clients like Miranda can do email notifications, but it takes some setting up.

If you don't need a desktop notifier for Yahoo/Outlook, you could install a Chrome app like X-Notifier.

Hmmm, sorry to hear that the "New mail notifications on" setting didn't work. Good to see that Midknyte has found an alternative solution that is working for you though.

Yes, it's working about 95% of the time.

Better than zero eh?
That is a bit weird though. Wonder what's blocking or delaying(?) the other 5%?
