Mem Test86
HP Pavilion p7-1108p Desktop
Windows 7
6GB RAM
1 TB HDD
AMD processor
Before I buy expensive new RAM to bring this system's max up to 16GB, I want to download and install a relatively easy-to-use memory tester so I know my current 6GB is still good...sluggishness when 2-3 programs are running has me concerned.
The subject product is apparently highly regarded (per a Crucial rep) and downloaded very frequently from the website of the same name.
Suggestions? I have to take a deep breath when I start reading about creating a disc image to burn, I'll be honest, but I'm great at following a mfr's step process as long as it's clear and well written : )
Thanks in advance.

Download Imageburner (free). Download the ISO file you want. Open Imageburner and you get one screen. Point to your ISO file and click Burn, That's all there is to it.

UBCD includes Memtest86+ (fork of Memtest86), hard drive diags, and a lot of other utilities. We've mentioned it a lot on this forum. Download link is in my signature.

If the memory was bad, you would probably get a lot of BSODs, not slowness.
If you don't know how to properly burn an iso image to cd, read this:
