    SkyDrive

MS has renamed SkyDrive to OneDrive some time ago. I have folders and files in that cloud. That website has been renamed OneDrive. So far so good.
In File Explorer it is still SkyDrive. I wonder whether this should be renamed too so that not two names exist for the same purposes. I do not understand why MS has not set up an update that renames SkyDrive to OneDrive. Will it eventually come with the update on Windows 81. in April?

Also, in File Explorer when I right-click on the SkyDrive folder, File Explorer simply closes. Any explanation for this. I have a laptop with W 8.1 and it does not happen there.

I hope so because these two names for the same thing is a nuisance. Why can't they do right away at MS. Pure sloppiness!

How come I still see "SkyDrive" in apps and online?
Over the next few months you may continue to see SkyDrive in some places and OneDrive in others. However, the product features will continue to work the way you expect them to.
Skydrive changed to Onedrive on 2/19, so it might take a while for everything to get switched. Not sure why your folder link would have issues.

Thanks Midknyte, your word in God's ear. My experience is not too positive about what MS often does without taking its customers into account.

My guess is a problem in the registry why file Explorer disappears. I have another program Free Commander and here it does not happen. I searched the net for this but could not find a serious answer. I guess, I have to live with this small issue for the time being.

Sky.com threatened to sue Microsoft for trademark infringement for the name SkyDrive (how MS's lawyers missed the name is sort of unbelievable but they did.) MS agreed to back down and rename their cloud storage. So now it's OneDrive. Sky gave MS some time to get a new name and it's slowly being changed.

With W8 Update the names have changed. Fine but not with the properties box and share. It still says there for instance: c:\users\username\SkyDrive. Somewhat irritating. Some MS i***t ust have forgotten to change it for the update.
