    Resolved [RESOLVED] uninstall lredundant printers

Finally got win 8.1 to accept driver for my laserjet 5/p. Would like to delete devices showing "laserjet 5/p with error)", and "HP laserjet 5/p copy1) without risking trouble, since the system now sees and works my laserjet 5/p printer. The working icon is listed now as laserjet 5/p (copy2). Jim S

Control Panel -> Devices and Printers. Right click on redundant device icon, choose "Remove device" from drop down menu. If the there are print jobs pending in the devices this may prevent deletion. Open printers folder for that instance of printer and cancel all pending print jobs in the queue. After the jobs are gone you should be able to delete the printer by right clicking and selecting "Remove device". Sometimes you may have to reboot for the deleted printer to no longer appear in the Devices and Printers folder. If you want you can rename the single remaining icon to be the original name by right clicking and choosing that option.

Happily, the problem was resolved. However, I don't know (excuse me) how to mark it as "resolved." Help! :-)
