    DVD / VOB

    Hi there,

I have a favourite film on a disk as an avi file and it plays just fine on the computer. I want to give the film to an elderly friend who only has a TV and DVD player.

So I redid the avi through a converter to create a series of vob files. Tested on my computer with PowerDVD and all was fine; but on her DVD player, zilch.

Next, I found an ISO file of the film, and burnt that to a DVD. Expanded file size is only around 22.8gb but again, opens and plays just fine on my computer. However, testing it on a DVD player attached to a TV, the message 'Unsupported file format' appears.'

Probably the issue is with either a DVD+ disk, burnt at home not being readable, or the player only likes a full disk. Is there any way to make the burnt DVD play on a DVD player?

    Thanks

    Rex

How did you burn the iso to the DVD? if just burned as a file in won't play in a DVD player. you would need to burn it specially as an iso file using something like Nero or CDburnerXP or..

Also you say it's only around 22gb.. that's huge for any type of media file.. is that the correct info? 22gb would be something like 5 full length feature films with extras.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the inbuilt Windows DVD Maker to create the movie DVD, or http://www.hanselman.com/blog/HowToC...DVDStyler.aspx
