Just look in system properties or type Winver in to Start-Run
Download the appropriate DVD iso:

OK, I've d/l and copied the .iso to my DVD. Is that it, no further conversion? An .iso file will work ok?

You will need to make a CD or DVD from the .iso file that you can use to install or reinstall. You can't install directly from the .iso file.

No. You are supposed to burn the .iso as an IMAGE, not just copy the file to a DVD.

If you did it correctly, a computer should be able to boot from it. If not, it won't.
