Resolved [RESOLVED] Webcam issues with sound

Sorry, not sure if this is the place or just desktop hardware?

Windows 7, Logitech webcam. Tried Skype, Facebook and new Google Hangout last night but although video was fine and sound to the other person was also OK I couldn't hear anything at my end.

Tried to send it to speakers - nothing, tried to send it to handset - nothing.

What should I be looking for? Plays normal sound just fine, i.e theme sounds, CD's, DVD's, Youtube, etc.

    Thanks in advance,

    Stewart

Provided same inputs/outputs are being used,
Above statement would eliminate audio chip/card and speakers as source of issue.

That only leaves the Logitech webcam software configuration
    and/or
    Audio chip/card control settings.
    Cheers.

Also worth investigating is whether the other person has made calls to others who can't hear him/her to eliminate the possibility of the problem being at that end.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.

Spot on Fink - the laptop had the wrong mic selected!
