CanonScan D646u
After I upgraded to A wIN7 64BIT SYSTEM I cant find drivers for my scanner. Please help me to get this Scanner to work on Win7.
I read on the web that I should install XP mode with virtual pc, and then run in XP mode using a LIDE 30 driver
Can you give me detailed instructions on how to do this.
Thanks

What version of Windows 7 64-bit do you have? You need at least the Professional version to be able to use the free XP Mode.

A quick search did not locate an detailed instructions. You may just have to try various methods to see if you can get it working. If all else fails, it might be time for a new (non-Canon) scanner.

I finally got it to recognise the scanner by installing XP Mode/ Virtual PC. There is a good article WXP Mode How to setup Guide. Run in XP Mode/ Virtual PC and connect the scanner, it will recognise the scanner and then install the drivers for the scanner in XP
