[RESOLVED] Can't access os due to me forgetting sign in password.
I bought a new pc with Windows 8 OS, but I forgot the sign in password and I think I'm stuck. I'm currently using my other pc with Windows 7 to write this. What can I do to get passed the password prompt or to reset the password? Or do I need to buy some password recovery/reset software? I'm sure someone here has a good idea on what I can do to fix my problem. Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, our Acceptable Use Policy does not allow us to help with forgotten password issues. If the system is new and you don't really have any data on it, you could restore to factory settings and start over.

While we can't tell you how, it's not difficult to find the info on the internet. You can very probably find the info on the computer manufacturer's support site. But for future reference, after you gain access back to the computer, you can make a "Password Reset Disk" in Windows for exactly this situation: How To Create and Use a Password Reset Disk or USB In Windows 8.
