Search in WORD2003
Using the Search function on Word2003 on an XP desktop:
1. I compose and save a document tettt.doc
2. I go to Start\Search and insert *.doc and “ Within last week” and start the Search.
3. The testt.doc file is found but the search takes more than a minute!
Is that normal or indicative of something wrong with my system? Thanks.

How many files are on your computer? Depending on te number of files and how fast your computer and hard drive are, just over a minute could be excellent results. With the number of files I have, it could take 20 minutes or more.

Once you get the hang of it, you will wish you started earlier.
