Resolved [RESOLVED] Deleting Yahoo Internet Explorer 9

    Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
    Intel core i5 650 @ 3.2 GHz
    8GB mem

I would like to delete Internet Explorer 9 and when I click on "program files" then "Internet explorer" it says "You need to provide Administrator permission to delete this" If I click on "program files (x86) I find "Internet Explorer" and when I try to delete it I get the same message. How do I get "Administrator permission" and how do I get rid of Internet Explorer?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply!

I tried that link and I get this message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item."

I also tried clicking on Computer-uninstall or change a program-view installed updates. Internet Explorer 9 does not appear there.

I have tried all of the links you suggested and had another person who knows more than I do try them also with no results. We tried deleting the internet explorer files that we could and even went into the registry deleting references to I/E. There seems to be some question of who or what is an "Administrator" was. The name of the administrator was changed. The account was changed and a new account was created. When we tried to download I/E 9 it referred to the "administrator" of the original file created for an administrator even when we went into the registry and changed the name to the new administration file with no help.

You may choose to install IE10.I did just today and so far so good. I did make a restore point before installing IE10 on my Windows 7 64 bit PC just in case. Install was no problem.

Thanks for all of the replies!

After trying all the suggestions (thank you very much!) I decided to download Firefox and it worked. Even though I could not access I/E I was able to transfer my "favorites" to Firefox so I/E was someplace on the computer. So then I used buf's suggestion of downloading I/E 10 and so far so good. I haven't figured out yet how to make Google my search engine and I can't get an icon on the desktop but all works!

    Thanks
