[RESOLVED] Windows 7 Ultimate / Bose Companion PC speaker system
Apparently there is a driver issue? Any ideas all?
Used to work - suddenly died. (Just bought it not that long ago!)

Try another set of speakers or headphones. Try the Bose speakers on another device (PC, iPod, etc). You need to figure out which is causing the issue.

Thanks for the reply Midknyte.
I hauled in my laptop using the same OS and when I plugged the speakers in they worked fine.

Did you look in device manager to make sure your sound card is working properly?
If you think it's a driver problem, did you reinstall the drivers?
Some system specs would help.

Thx - been there done that all ways to Sunday. I even uninstalled the various the USB root(s).

These are USB speakers? Like I said, specs would help. Make/model of the computer and speakers.

MS mercifully auto kicked in some USB driver updates, et al and all is now well.
IMO it was clearly a USB driver issue.
