Advice for building a home Server
Hello,
I'm interested in building a home server to back up all our computers. I have 2 desktops in the house as well as 2 laptops.
I've built a number of computers so that isn't the issue. Newegg was offering Windows Home Server 2011 for a decent price. I guess what I need to know is about saving/backing up each computer---is it a manual operation or do I set each one up to directly save all files to the server?
An edit: My main desktop is wired directly to my cable modem. But the 2nd desktop, and the 2 laptops are all shared wirelessly.
Any advice/links you could offer would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have a couple copies of WHS that I played with but never really used.
In short - when setup properly, it will make a complete image of pc and then do backups of new files as per the schedule you setup..
Should a hard drive die - you replace the drive - boot off a WHS cd and tell it which image to restore.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.
