[RESOLVED] Strangest thing happening on frequently visited site
Hi everyone..I have a problem I hope you can help me with. A site I love to read;
http://getoffmyinternets.net/
..is suddenly inaccessible to me. I get a web page that reads Apache 2 Test Page Powered by CentOS whenever I go to the site. Everyone I know who also reads this site, can get on with no problem. I just read the site, so the thought of being banned makes no sense. I rarely commented in the forums or on posts, and always simple, benign stuff when I did.
I had a friend contact the owner/webmaster of the site, but he heard nothing back. It's been about a week and still no change. I've cleaned out cookies, rebooted...and even reset my router, all to no avail
I can't get in on BOTH Goodle Chrome or Internet Explorer and I can't even get on using my cell phone browser. I use Comodo firewall and AVG AV, plus Spyware Blaster..but no changes or updates before, since or after this first occurred. I'm completely flummoxed! Any ideas or help would be so appreciated!
Thanks!
Lisa

Unfortunately..still getting the Apache page..whether googling and clicking the search result, using my bookmark or just now clicking on your link When I click on the other links that come up beneath the Google search..like the forums to this site..or any other area of the site..I get the 'you don't have permission to view this page' or 'access is forbidden'.

A lot of times a website may block/ban a whole ramge of IPs ,you may have been ensnared due to others shenanigans.Have you tried getting there by typing in the sites IP address? I'll see if I can locate it .
try 50.116.56.243

You'll have to wait for someone more familiar with the website /server technology, but hopefully they'll be able to help ,given the new info.

Thank you so much for your help., wonderinguy! I do hope someone can help remedy it. I'm beginning to think she just happened to ban someone in my area and I'm on the bad end because of it *sigh*

Just realized you said "I can't even get on using my cell phone browser." ,that should bypass any IP block. When you get the HTML page via 50.116.56.243 ,does it show you as a Guest or do you get auto logged in with your username ?

Kind of acts like what I have seen when someone did not pay their bandwidth usage bill on time.
The 50.116.56.243 works, but all links fron there pop up the apache message.
Maybe server problems too.

I also get the Apache test page via the URL but the IP address gets me to the sites main page. Access forbidden from any link there though.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.
Check back regularly for responses.

One alternate way to see what's been happening on getoffmyinternets.net within the last 24 hours is to go to Google, type in:
press [Enter], click Search tools, then Any time and then select Past 24 hours.
If you'd like to contact getoffmyinternets.net's webmistress, Alice Wright, try the following string on Google:

So...I just woke up...came directly to this thread, and tried SpywareDr's idea. Not only did it work, but when I closed out the site...I did a regular Google Search..clicked on it, and voila, it works again! I'm not sure if it will last, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. You guys are my lucky charms...not to mention geniuses
