Resolved [RESOLVED] Server 2003 and CHM Help File Issue

Three out of five servers we have will not open CHM Help files... Even a Help button like the one found in Win Explorer will not open.

When selecting Open With - I do not see the options-> Microsoft HTML Help Executable.

I've seen many references to this but it just doesn't sound right:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=91

I've also seen references to looking in the properties of CHM files for an UNBLOCK button... But the button doesn't exist.

    Any thoughts?

Thanks. Yes I saw that too. It seems to apply to IE and or Web Applications and or opening CHM files off a web site.

The three affected machines are terminal servers that host an accounting program my company makes and supports. It was brought to our attention that the softwares built in HELP doesn't work. One of the good machines is also a TS machine but it doesn't have the problem.

It also seems to affect help files that are on a network drive.

I saw that part too and it doesn't help explain why two machines are good to go and three aren't. All five are in the same Data Center etc.... I broke down and did a support ticket with the DC even though I think it falls outside their area of support... Hope to get lucky with a "click here and read this" type of reply.

Sad part is that it's probably been this way for a while and makes you scratch your head wondering why none of my clients haven't reported it... On the other hand - why click a help button when you can contact us and let us do your work for you

    Thanks jdc2000...

Thanks again jdc2000.... between your link and another one I found I was able to Resolve the issue.

I copied three files from the ServicePackFiles\i386 folder.
    HH.exe to the Windows folder
    HHctrl.ocx and Itss.dll to the System32 folder.
I then registered the ocx and dll file and all is well.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.
