Windows 8 Secure Boot feature causing issues for PC image recovery discs
Just a note to be aware that the Secure Boot feature could cause issues if you use programs like Macrium Reflect, Acronis True Image, Clonezilla and others and attempt to use a non-approved Operating System (namely Linux) based recovery disc. Secure Boot wants to see only approved versions of operating systems, namely, Windows (or at least until other OS types become approved.) (There are versions of Linux coming out that should pass the Secure Boot test. But that time is just beginning at this point.)
The workaround for now is to go into the bios and temporarily disable the Secure Boot feature. After restoration, re-enable it if you wish to do so.
