Where is the best place to buy a laptop?
I may be forced into the market for a new laptop and just wanted some feedback as to where is the best place to shop.
The reason I inquire is I was in one of the big 3 electronic stores and one salesman who was very helpful and knowledgeable with another need advised if he was looking to buy a laptop, he would not shop in his store or any of the big 3. He told me where to look but I was not really in the market at the time so his place of recommendation slipped my mind.
Also would like any input on the new Windows OS's that are out there now. Mine being older has XP which I love and I know how over the years MS has come out with some bombs.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

1) Newegg.com, Tigerdirect.com (which is also GlobalComputer.com and CompUSA.com). Buy.com occasionally has good prices. Provantage.com is another. Once I've found what I want, I usually Froogle.com the model# to make sure I'm getting a good price, (from sellers I know trust).
2) Get Windows 7. Windows 8 is really designed for touch-screens.
