    Help with new harddrive

    Can anyone can tell me here how to create boot sector in hard disk I bought a new hard disk from online store, I tried calling IT support guys. When I put it with my old disk it is not reading it. What’s the problem is there any kind of software I have to use in it.

    You can partition and format the new drive in Disk Management.

    In Windiows XP, click Start > Run, type in "diskmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press [Enter].

    In Windiows 7, click Start, type in "diskmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press [Enter].

    Now simply right-click the drive you want to work with. (Be careful that you don't select the wrong one).
