I am having issue with playing videos on my laptop. I posted about this before, but I am still stumped. Videos that I watch on my other PC's and which are fine are awful on my laptop. There is a green bar running horizontally about 1/2 along the top of the screen and the colors "run" in the videos. I downloaded the latest K-Lite pack of codecs, but to no avail. I know I didn't used to have this issue with this laptop (fairly new Samsung running Windows 7) and I can't imagine what might have changed the situation, but I would really entertain any suggestions to fix the issue.
Have you tried either upgrading or reinstalling the video drivers? Or perhaps Windows did an automated driver update and you need to roll back to the previous version.
First, I would reinstall the existing driver to make sure it isn't corrupted.
Control panel>hardware and sound>device manager... open device manager and double click display adapters then right click the graphics card info that will appear below it and select "uninstall driver".
Then reboot and the driver will automatically be reinstalled.
If that doesn't solve the problem then follow the same procedure but this time select "update driver software" and windows will try to find a newer version if available.
Try these two things and if they don't help let us know and we'll move to other things.
Possibly, but when drivers get corrupted for what ever reason, like updating video drivers until the are not working right anymore, proving the latest may not be the greatest, we have to do just like you did.

and post back. Let us know if it worked.
