    Train: The file I saved after scanning my document is testpage.pdf. PDF is the only option I could have on this scanner. But, as i have said, the file can be viewed using Adobe Reader but I can't Find words within it or highlight words with the mouse. The file just looks like a picture of the document. Why it is PDF and not JPG I don't understand.

    Other scanners allow one to save the file in WORD (extension doc), right?

    Well, then the OCR program, built in, locks the scan. Forgot HP does that from what I have seen/experienced.

    Going to have to get a different program to use.

    My scanner will not scan and save as a .doc. I need OCR software to do that.
