Need working driver for dMachine T5212

Reloaded XP Pro on eMachine. Most drivers installed ok, but the video and audio are reluctant. Was able to scrounge a video driver, that works, but tried, and tried to get the audio, a Realtek Hi Def. Seems to load, but when the Device Manager is checked it does not appear. Much thanks, Jim S

Did you install the chipset driver prior to installing the audio one.

I don't see a realtek Hi Def driver for this computer. Are you sure the audio is that?

Here's a list of the drivers for your computer:

    Not sure

Thanks for your note. I think I did do the chipset first, though forgot to reboot after that install, which should have been done. eMachine is suggesting a Sigmatel driver, but when I go that route, it doesn't seem to load, at least, according to the device manager. Will keep trying, and may have to try a reinstall of the o/s, starting over. Thanks, again Jim S. Will be back in touch.

You're welcome. But I don't know why you're using the device manager to install a driver. Usually, how I do it is download the driver to a folder on the desktop, find file in folder, double click, and usually an installer starts the install.

Plus I use this software, PCWizard, to check what really is the audio manufacturer.

    Thannks

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not trying to install from device manager. I only checked with device manager to determine if the driver was installed successfully. Thanks, again Jim S

Run PCWizard and it will tell you if you have Hi Def audio on that computer. As I said, the drivers at Gateway only show sigmatel as audio.
