    Determining Failure Causation

My wife's computer runs Vista 64 bit on an Intel E8500 with 8GB memory (4 sticks x 2GB) and 2 x 750GB WD hard drives. The system has been periodically freezing with the only option to reboot via the power button and occasionally it just gives us the BSD.

How do I find out the cause of this? Is there a log file in Vista that I can read and then research the failure codes to determine if it is hdw or sfw?

    Thanks

You could try Blue Screen View. However, if no log file was created, that might not help. Check Event Viewer also.
