Connecting Computer video output to an HD TV

I have an LG 42PJ350 Plasma TV and an LG BD570 WiFi Blu-ray Disc Player. For some odd reason LG does not make Hulu Plus available to my player. I can get Netflix, but that service is getting lamer and lamer by the month.

What I would like to do is connect my older [but still very good] Dell Inspiron E1705 video output to my TV or Player and watch Hulu Plus. Maybe even subscribe to NFL and NHL games to and watch them on my TV.

Understand this isn't as easy as simply buying a cable and plugging the two together. Can anyone help me out here and advise how to do this right?

    Thank you.

You should just be able to use a D-sub cable from the VGA out on the notebook to the VGA in on the TV.

If you don't have a VGA input on your TV; what inputs do you have?
