This was supposed to be fixed in the last IOS 5.1 .. isn't .. BUT I did discover something rather unusual today .,,
I shoot this small piece of video on my iphone 4 and it is upside down ..

I transfer it to Photobucket video section and when it finished it was the right way up .. !

How did they know to do this?? it almost as if it was monitored on their end and the software realized it was upside down... and flipped it for me ...

I'm still tryign to figure out my AVS video software I subscribe to and can't seem to find the edit switch for my AVS video converter and do this on my own ..

BTW has anyone any news on when Apple Will fix this ??????

When you get ready to shoot a landscape video (or take a landscape picture) with your phone, which way is up? Apparently, some flip the phone left, some right.

Another problem is that _some_ of the software out there ignores, or does not properly support the EXIF data that is stored in the image. Like it said on the page I linked to above, "The EXIF metadata spec contains a field which defines how the image should be rotated for proper viewing, i.e. 'which side is up'".

When I go to landscape view ( i.e. 4x6) the display in my view finder is correct .. if I turn the phone up side down it remains the same correct view in my viewfinder ..

The + / - buttons that I use for the picture taking is on my right side of camera for my right hand .. when I take the picture and then immediately view in my phone it is also right side ( good view) ., BUT after I down to my PC using the default software in either my XP or my Windows 7 PC the pictures or videos are upside down .. as outlined in the post above from the Apple forums .. My post here yesterday was the fact that by uploading the upside video to Photobucket it corrected to the right view ...

Then it sounds like Photobucket is reading and interpreting the EXIF data stored in your videos/pictures correctly ... and the other programs are not.
