[RESOLVED] Power Calibration Error
When burning a Double Layer DVD i get the error message 'Power Calibration Error'. I am able to burn single layer (normal 4.7 GB) discs without any problems. I have tried different media, same problem, and there is no dust, its all cleaned out, firmware is updated, all the cables are ok thats why i can burn normal DVD's but i dont know what the problem is with double layer DVDs. I have a Pioneer DVR-109 burner and I am using Nero

Researching your problem brings solutions. What speed are you trying to burn these Dual Layer disks? Try a lower speed. Most Dual layers are only 8x, if you are trying to burn using the maximum of your drive, this can cause that problem.

The last dual layer blanks I got were 4X. Yes, a lot of them are still on the store shelves.

Try cleaning the optical drive lens with a cleaning disc. You can get one from any music or electronics store if you don't have one already.

Different power levels are used. A small amount of contamination on the lens might be enough to stop DL burning while still being just within limits for single layer.
