Older Computer needs driver! Help??
I am using an old DELL Dimension 4700C running Windows XP Pro.
When I look under the Device Manager, I have an exclamation mark on the SCSI and RAID Controllers symbol. Clicking on the error I see....
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device
I cannot seem to find, nor know how to install the driver for this if I ever do locate it! DELL site I cannot figure out.
Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be swell!
Thanks

Sounds like you need the chipset driver which includes drivers for your controllers.
I went to Dell and found this:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19
After you get there, click on "chipset" and you should be able to download the driver you need. After you get to the download page, click on the linked words "Intel driver" and it will also have further instructions to help you install this driver.

Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the chipset drivers etc. and installed them. The problem still shows up in device manager though. I will just leave it be as my computer seems to be running fine. It may be that I used Daemon Tools awhile back and uninstalled it. I have read on the net that this would cause the error. Who knows???
Thanks again!!
