    [Inactive] FROZEN MOUSE/SYSTEM

    HP Pavilion a1640n Desktop
Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600)
1.87 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo
    64 kilobyte primary memory cache
    2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    64-bit ready
    Multi-core (2 total)
Not hyper-threaded Board: ASUSTek Computer INC. Buckeye 1.05
    Bus Clock: 266 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 3.17 08/21/2007

    ==============================

Just in the past 2 weeks or so, my mouse freezes unpredictably...I can even walk away from the system for a couple of hours and return to find the mouse nowhere in sight, essentially frozen. Rebooting solves the problem until it happens again...I've never had a problem with this before. The mouse is a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 -- the keyboard is a wired hp...same brand as my tower.

Can anyone help, or at the least put this into the proper forum if I've posted incorrectly?

    Thanks.

Just to make double sure, follow the instructions at
    http://discussions.virtualdr.com/sho...d.php?t=167915

If nothing is found the thread can be moved.
But post the logs and DO NOT attach as folks will not open them then.

We just cleaned your computer two weeks ago.
I don't think freezing mouse is caused by any infection.
    Please post in Windows forum.
