How do I get decent wi fi in stationary RV?
I live in an RV in an RV campground that provides a spotty wifi service. I'd rather spend a monthly fee and have reliable and somewhat speedy internet than continue with this
farce. I've been told that AT&T's U-Verse service comes here. I'm also aware that a
cell phone (the only kind of phone we have) can act as a conduit to internet reception.
I'm not familiar with the cell phone technology (WAY behind the times on that one) but
we have a router, two laptops and one desktop. Laptops run Vista and my desktop runs Win 7 64 bit. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Now what I recommend in that situation is a wireless card with a remote antenna for the desktop.

That way you can set the antenna in a window and get away from the RV sides stopping the signal.
That help a RVer in San Francisco area in the couple years.

It may be different over there, but be very careful about using a cellphone as a modem. A lot of the carriers over here don't like you doing it, and it can be astronomically expensive.
On the other hand if your cellphone providers do a 3G USB dongle that can be quite a reasonably good way of getting internet access.
