Program for encoding WORD documents
I wonder if anyone knows of a down-loadable simple program that can encode text. I want to convert a Word document (in English) to an encoded message, one that I would then store and which would require someone to insert a key to reconvert back to English.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Truecrypt is probably the best known software for that sort of thing, and it is freeware too

Dr. Spyware: Thank you so much, once again.
I think the password protect feature within WORD (that you alerted me to) will do just fine. And that does not require me to learn a new application like TruCrypt.

Be aware though that while the password protection built into Word is good enough to protect from casual readers, it is fairly trivial to crack for anyone who is reasonably determined If the information is very sensitive you need something stronger, such as TrueCrypt.
