That's because there are no uppercase "o"'s ("O") in a hex number. Change both of your "O"'s (oh's) to "0" (zeros) and you should get a hit.
The first two characters, "0x", (a zero and an x), tell you it's a hexadecimal (base-16) number. The next eight characters can be from a 0 up through 9 and then continue with A up through F. (0123456789ABCDEF). Any other characters beside these 16 would be invalid.

Which search engine are you using? I get "About 77" hits on Google:

I was searching from inside the knowledge base, haven't tried with a search engine. I thought it more logical to search MS knowledge base itself for the answer, silly me, I was forgetting it is MS we are talking about here.

Not all error codes will show in the Knowledgebase, though it is always worth trying. I generally try both the KB and a general search.

You can use Google to search the Microsoft.com site for any pages with "0X8CCCD033" in them. Simply use the Google search string:(It returns 9 hits).

I don't like or trust google, to intrusive. I use Ixquick, much better and doesn't log your personal bits and pieces. I did a search with Ixquick and found a link, I found from that that my problem is a worldwide problem that MS are supposedto be correcting, I am not holding my breath!!!

I used Google as an example simply because it's more popular and powerful.
You can use the same search string, "site:microsoft.com 0X8CCCD033", on ixquick.com but, you won't get as many hits.
