How to CHANGE opening "splash" ?

I'd love to alter/replace the start up "splash".

Foist, I'd like to alter the Windows XP Professional screen to eliminate the junque it has.

Secondly, I'd like to modify the above to display the Window icon + XP Professional ONLY.

Thirdly, I want to modify the 2nd display (above) to provide me with my calendar appointments (See your psychiatrist TODAY, etc.)
