Question Trying to connect usb 3.0 hub to motherboard.

I'm hoping to find a connector cable that would connect my motherboard to a usb 3.0 pci hub with a male "B" connector. Do they make such a thing?

I can get around it by running a USB 3 cable from the usb 3 outside slot back inside but was hoping to connect everything up internally.

ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 motherboard connecting a USB 2.0 4port hub pci card from serial technologies expander.

The connection on the hub is "B" but I was hoping to connect the other end to the motherboard usb connection port.

    So it would be this:

    Connecting to this:

You might look around this site. They carry a lot of cables other sites don't.

I've just read this thread 4 times, and I still can't figure out what you are trying to do

If this is a PCI card, as you say, then you don't need to make any other motherboard connections, it is all done through the PCI slot. If I have got the wrong end of the stick (most likely), a bit more explanation would help here, please.

It sits in the PCI slot but doesn't connect to the motherboard, its a hub not a controller. The only connections are the male "B" to expand the usb capabilities/ add additional ports and a 15 pin sata connection for added power.

2 x USB 3.0 ports (blue, at back panel)

12 USB 2.0/1.1 ports (8 ports at mid-board, 4 ports at back panel)

Now the 4 mid-board you show are for connecting USB front panel connections.

So this would route the connector to the rear panel.

Now the cable I linked to will work.

Looks like hole cutting time to me. Through a blank PCI plate would be what I would do. And use the cable that comes with the kit. Or if you have real good air flow and no heat problems, just remove a plate.

LOL that's what I figured. I was hoping maybe a cable might exsist that I couldn't find which has happened before.

    Thanks for all your help.

Your other option is to cut the other end off a SATA 3 cable that has the Male B connector on one end, and solder on the appropriate connector for your motherboard. I don't think anyone is going to make the cable you need as a stock item.

Ah, the penny has finally dropped

    I managed to find this:

    http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...d=0CFIQ8wIwBw#

You could use than in conjunction with a standard A to B adapter. Otherwise, jdc2000's idea is a good one. In fact, those header pins are usually crimped on, so you may not even need to get the soldering iron out.

Then with a USB Adapter, Type A Female / Type B Male

    That should do the trick.
