    What is the C:Recycler folder

and is there anyway you can remove the files contained in it? My folder on my C drive which is separate from my other files under document settings show this recycle to hold over 7.3 GB of files yet the recycle bin on my desktop is empty .. confused on what this is..

I'm trying to free up some space on my C drive as it only has 4.5 GB left and the remaining 23.5 ( 30GB drive) are my exisitng folders and files .
I have all my photos and music on other drivers and I recently picked up an external 680 GB Seagate Hard drive. so everything is backed up that I think is important but am always looking for more space ..

    any advice???

    How to delete Recycler Folder

Recycler is a read only folder and that is why it gave error if you tried to delete it. To view the folder, go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View tab and uncheck the option of Hide Protected operating System Files.

Now just right click on the folder, go to Properties and unselect the option of Read Only. Now it can be deleted.

    What I do.
Please download TFC by Old Timer and save it to your desktop.
    Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. If you are using Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator.
Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately.

ttodd--Are you sure that file is named C:Recycler?
    You could read http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_th...ontained_in_it
    but that ignores the absence of the \ . ( i.e. C:\Recycler)

Have you tried to delete it?
