graphics driver
I am running WIN98 on an old Compaq Armada 1560DM laptop. I want to use it strictly for games. Everything thing appeared to be working fine until I tried to install a Mahjongg game and a couple of other games. I get an error message saying something like "cannot run graphics program, " or "no graphics accelerator." I've tried to install the lastest adapter driver, but not sure if it's the latest or if that's what to do. Any help out there?

? Compaq lists sp7141.exe as the driver for stated 1560 series.

I tried to use that driver. I made the disk as directed. I told it where the driver was located (A and it gave me this message:"Please insert the disk labeled 'Chips and Technologies Windows 95 Driver Disk' and then click OK." I have the floppy in and click ok, but it doesn't work. Not sure what to do from there. The actual error message I am getting when I try to start the Mahjongg game is " Could not initialize Graphic system."

Direct it to the DISK1 folder.

Thanks, but I did that. It locates, but says I have the best driver. When I try to install anyway, that's when I get the message I states before, "Please insert the disk labeled..." Any other suggestions?

Message displayed may be due to the fact that SP21249 drivers are still installed and/or remnants of SP21249 is still present.
Cheers.

So I did a fresh install of WIN 98 and installed the correct drivers. I even updated to DirectX 9.0c I still cannot enable 3D acceleration and it says that it is not available in dxdiag. Anything else to try?

At this point in time,
I suspect more an issue/requirements with the game then...
Cheers.
