Search stalls on completion
Hello,
When I use the Search Feature (XP SP2) it correctly identifies and displays all the relevant files, but then freezes up so that I have to invoke Task Manager which reports "Not responding". I then have to terminate execution with "End Task". This means that I cannot actually click on the files to view them.
Is there any simple remedy for this?
Regards,
Philip M

If you installed any desktop indexing/search tools like Google Desktop, that could be causing the problems.
You could try a sfc /scannow to try and repair the files, but I would just get a better search tool.
Everything Search is way faster than the old Windows Search.
