Internet Not Connecting But Modem Okey
recently i started having a problem with my sony vaio vgnfw200
before the internet worked fine but now when i try to get on firefox (internet) it will take forever to start up as if it is searching for something then it says page could not be displayed/. ive tried internet explorer and that doesnt work. there are four laptops in my home and one pc and all of them are running on the same modem. all of them appear to be working fine. but mine does not
any help?

First off, are you sure it's just a modem and not a router/modem? Provide the specs of your modem/router and ISP.
Are you using wired or wireless connection? Are you getting an IP?
What OS are you using? Do you have antivirus and antispyware?

yeah it is a modem/router
im using a wireless connection
right now they told me to uninstall my virus protection because
it expired.
idk what the other two are

OS = Operating System as in Windows XP
If you don't have Antivirus or Antispyware, that could have messed up your TCPIP stack. Download Avira Antivirus and Malwarebytes to a flash drive from another computer, then copy it to your Sony.
To check your IP, open a command window (start-run-cmd), then type ipconfig /all. Let us know what you see. If you are getting a 169.254.x.x number, that means your system is not getting a proper IP from the router.
