    Just be very sure the word "rubbing" is nowhere on the label. Rubbing alcohol contains oil(s) that can screw-up electronics parts totally.

    I use 91% isopropyl and cotton balls to clean dirty CD/DVD disks as well...
    Stupid question? No such thing!

    ...also make real sure it does not contain glycerine or fragrance...sometimes in fine print on the label.

    This is why I use Distilled vinegar for cleaning my monitor and LCD tv screen. Vinegar has no oil or glycerine in it.
