Unhappy sony vaio irritating internet issue

I just bought a new laptop. A Sony-VAIO VGN-NW150J. I'm having the weirdest irritating internet issue. I have wireless internet. Browsing is usually pretty fast but quite often I will get a "Server not found" page. I'm not getting kicked off my wireless connection. (And I'm pretty sure it's not spotty wireless since it's not a problem with our other computers). Refreshing usually fixes it. Certain webpages are constant offenders (I can never search on wikipedia, espn rarely loads correctly.) It's not my browser because it happens while using Chrome or Firefox. So I've concluded it's my computer, but I can't figure it out. It's still functional, but since it's brand new and i spent a lot of money, I'd rather it work like it should. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated! Thank you!

It messed with me on my new laptop.
Used the tool and got rid of it.

I installed Avira Freee that I had downloaded.

Running it now on two laptops.

Avast has a free version also, so take your pick.

    AVG, leave alone

    Hello,

funny, I was going to post a topic about this problem with this exact same laptop and model. My brother has it, and is having this internet problem too, he said he uninstalled the Norton that came with it, so that can't be the problem. He does have AVG though I think, so Train, you mentioned leave AVG alone, does it produce the same problem or something?

All I can say is since AVG went to version 8 and newer, folks have had a lot of hair pulling contests with it and most folks lost. Not good in my book.

Just in case, have you tried a different browser.
I use Firefox and have it work just spiffy wnem IE would not.
Opera and many more are out there, even that one google has is not bad.

I wonder if it could be a CMOS problem.
The CMOS settings can be different than on the other computers.
Why not contact SONY free support and describe the problem as you have here?
You could start reading the documentation on the system.

Open your mind, not your computer.
