Simple clipboard history?
I am looking for a free simple clipboard history manager, just something that will save maybe the last 5 or so clipboard items.
All the ones I have found so far are generally pay for software that will save pre-written replies, fill in forms etc.
Anyone got any personal recommendations.

There is no such thing as overkill. 'Open fire' and 'is it dead?' are the only sane options when threatened.

I will give these a look, when searching I tried words like clipboard, history, manager, utility. I did not try 'replacement'.
That is one thing I have noticed, especially in Google that one word different in a search can make a lot if difference in the results even when you think the search string is general enough to cover what you are looking for.
