    DirectX - Jodix1.6

I used Jodix1.6 Free WMA to MP3 converter for years. Yesterday when I clicked on its "Add Files" (to be converted) a pop-up box announced: "The following file... *wma... can NOT be read correctly. You need update to DirectX8.1 or higher" (sic!).
Although WinXP supposedly has DirectX, I found DirectX9.0, on line, and installed it. After restarting, I did not see DirectX in Start>Programs. "DirectX" exists in C>Program files, but the folder is EMPTY! I repeated the installation - no change whatsoever. The same pop-up box appears, and no Direct X line is present in Start>Programs (neither there is a Desktop icon). The only DirectX folder in Program Filie is still empty.
    What should I do?

yurka--You will not find dxdiag.exe in Start|Programs, not in WinXP anyway. (But, if installed, you should in C:\Windows\System32\.)
    Try running Start|Run|dxdiag.exe .
If you need to install (again) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

    Thank you, Jim.
I found "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" by opening dxdiag.exe and it opened as DirectX Diagnostic Tool", in Network tag it showed 16 network tools related to DirectX , four of which: DirectX Play8 TCP/IP, Service Provider, Modem Service Provider and Serial Service had Registry Errors.
I uninstalled Jodix and installed Switch Sound File Converter. Neither it nor iTunes could not convert my WMA files, informing me that they are "Protected by DRM".
Is it the end of it?
