firefox closed down
my links, everything with firefox has closed down
I just get this notice
The proxy server is refusing connections
Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.
* Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct.
* Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is
working.
I ve been into tools in the browser but cant see anything about proxy browsers..

Tools> Options
On the General tab select the network sub tab.
Now click the settings tab.

It would help if you said which version of Firefox you are running.
For 3.6.x, go to Tools-Options-Advanced-Network-Connection Settings

Does Internet Explorer work OK? Is Internet Explorer set to use a proxy server? If not, then you may have either a malware issue or a Firefox add-on that is acting up.

... I found it in advanced settings...
it was on manual settings so Ive changed that to...... no proxy ....
and it looks like things are working now....
is that the way to go ?
(could it be some mischeivous trojan that changed settings ? )
Im having problems right now with trojans... lots of my applications are beind disabled...
my theory is that some trojan is gobbling up the dll file and this disables the application. a
for eg Ive lost use of my photoshop... a sign comes up... missing dll file
( I read that adobe and m soft are particularly vulnerable to this dll problem )
I installed paint shop pro
that worked for 2 weeks, then today its disappeared, Ive had to reinstall from the disc.
This problem with FFox could be just another manifestation of these d....d trojans !
Ive just downloaded Trojan Remover... a 30 day trial... hope that will clean things up
for a while !
