    Resolved [RESOLVED] 1041 Error

Hello to All! Could anyone help me to eliminate this problem: On Event Viewer this error message appears in four groups:
"Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D} and it will not be loaded.
This is most likely caused by a faulty registration."
This started after I downloaded SP3 which immensely slowed down my system. Few days later I deleted SP3 via Control Panel Ad or Remove.
.which restored the previous system performance except the above error.
Is there any other way to eliminate this error without editing the registry ?

Windows XP Media Center Edition, v.2002; SP2
    Intel(R), Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz; 1.00 RAM

    Steven,

From what I've seen, this may be a problem with Internet Explorer 8. Try reinstalling and see if that fixes the problem.

Thank you TB for your post. I am using IE 7 not v.8. Any other solution? I don't want to use IE 8.

Try running the System File Checker:

Open a Command Prompt (Start --> Run --> cmd)
    Type:

    sfc /scannow

    You'll need your XP cd.....

What is the date of the error and how does that date compare to the date you installed SP3?

Approx how many of the same errors does the system have? Meaning have you been getting the error for a long time and didn't know it?

Which catagory in Even Viewer is the error in? Appliaction/System etc?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Thank you all for your post. The error started on May 19 under Application. Sometime 6-8 consecutive time and repeating to present. I just noticed it a day before I posted my question and I am not sure how the May 19 relate to the time when I downloaded SP3. There is no other error notice in Application or in System. I only have a Recovery CD from ZT Group, the system builder. The scannow command would not work wit the recovery CD.

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
    Download Mirror #1
    Download Mirror #2

    • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
    • Vista users:: Right click on SystemLook.exe, click Run As Administrator
    • Copy the content of the following box into the main textfield:
      Code:
      :reg
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions /sub
    • Click the Look button to start the scan.
    • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

Thank you Broni for your help. I followed your instructions. After trying to run Mirror1 and Mirror 2 the Start window came up but they did not run.

R-click the link and select Save Target AS.

    That worked for me.

Thank you everybody for your help. I deleted the registry entry which Windows couldn't query and this solved the problem.
