Fix for corrupted registry?
Working on friend's xp box and can't remember if installing xp over xp will fix the registry? Also, will she lose her service packs? I know she'll retain her data, but can't remember if she'll lose the SPs.
Anyone remember that far back?

You will want to perform a Repair Install using the same XP service pack level as is currently installed. If you do that, the Service Packs will be OK, but you will need to check for updates afterwards. The Registry should be fixed also, unless you have extra unwanted entries.
